The
project is intended to present to the information
kiosks market a modern cross-platform software
called The EasyLink™, developed based
upon Java technologies. Atlantic-Link has also
developed unique software and a device called
The EasyLink™ Watchdog, which controls
and recovers the kiosks, the unattended
and remote computers after any failures.
Information Kiosks are autonomous high tech
computerized machines housed in specially
designed enclosures with graphical user-friendly
interfaces. Kiosks have been designed to
provide information, communication, banking
and entertainment services, as well as complete
e-commerce retail services.
The main differences between a kiosk from a regular
ATM or a computer based work station is
the following: the kiosk provides a full
complex of modern services for a wide client
range whilst at the same time the users do
not need to have any special technical or
computer knowledge.
The kiosks have an attractive, modern and
tailored look thus ensuring convenient and
enjoyable usage. It is technically designed
to ensure simple installation and integration
to any environment or location. There are
many positions, where the kiosks are usually
placed, and the most common placements are:
banks, railway stations, airports, offices,
hotels, museums, post-offices, hospitals,
restaurants, streets; in fact, anywhere
you need access to the world of business,
leisure or information.
One of the main kiosk’s devices is
a Sensor Monitor, which allows the user to
reach and control the services by simplye
touching to the desired function on the screen.
Individual kiosks are usually connected
by a specialized local corporative network.
This network (Intranet) is controlled from
a central location both by system administrators
and managers.
The kiosks are designed for easy use and
they offer a clear interface and a multitude
of great services: from the printing of photos from your mobile phone, burning your own CD's, Banking transactions,
Communication services with IP Telephony,
Video Telephony through simple Internet
access, sending both E-mail and SMS. The
kiosks are designed to be totally accessible
to everyone who wants to use it, providing
full access for people with physical disabilities.
They include the software, which serves
as a guide the user with physiacl disabilities.
The kiosks are designed to exclude no one
and socially include all! The kiosks are designed to be totally accessible to everyone who want to use them, providing full access for people with physical disabilities.
